Local, 2 Ways is a multi-course beer dinner that brings together two different culinary minds for one memorable meal. Let's meet those minds. Philip Shyat is a self taught cook. He's worked in restaurants since forever and majored in food science at Clemson before joining Burger Up. He can do elegant but doesn't shy away from a fried balogna sandwich either. Brooklyn Brewery's House Chef Andrew Gerson has spent 10 years in kitchens on both sides of the pond, advocating for food trucks, running his own pasta company and getting his Masters in Food Communication from the University of Gastronomic Sciencs in Pollenza, Italy. For The Mash's 3rd edition of Local, 2 Ways, these two talented chefs will combine their powers for good. A dollar of every ticket sold will go to benefit Slow Food Nashville.
