Artifact
1500 Union Ave, Baltimore, MD
Tickets, $5 (includes a Brooklyn beer)
Join us at Artifact for a discussion about the growing importance of small businesses with author, crafter and handmade evangelist Kelly Rand, co-founder of Baltimore Threadquarters Marlo Jacobson & owner of Art House, Joan Dolinda. They'll share insights on the challenges and opportunities around turning a passion project into a business, talk about new resources that are available to budding entrepreneurs and also discuss the crucial role of the handmade movement in urban and developing communities around the country.
Being a start-up ourselves (albeit a 25-year old start-up) we thought we'd bring her into the evolving business that is Artifact along with some of our beer for a nice little gathering. Join us for a beer, ask some questions or just listen.
"If you're a crafter who's dreaming of quitting your day job, this book will provide you the necessary know-how. Hello Craft is a non-profit trade association dedicated to crafters and the handmade movement, and their insider knowledge makes them a natural (and adorable) guide to its nuances." --BUST Magazine
